Cambridge AHRC DTP Masterclass: How to Achieve Career Success Post-PhD
Venue: Nihon Room, Pembroke College
Date: 3 April 2019
Time: 2.30-4.30pm
How often have you been asked, “what is your research about?” only to draw a complete blank or start gabbling away about every aspect of your emerging thesis? How can you explain your research and your wider expertise to the range of people you will encounter as you progress through your PhD and beyond? It is on these questions that this Masterclass will focus.
During the two-hour session, led by Alan Crouch, MBA, students had the opportunity to learn how to:
- prepare an ‘elevator pitch’ for a range of purposes, from job interviews to funding applications, conferences and networking events;
- articulate your expertise and the value you can bring to new opportunities;
- increase your chances of achieving your personal career goals.
